Lara Quinlivan, PA-C, MPH is a dedicated physician assistant with a diverse background in global health, public health, health education, and primary care. Originally from rural Oregon and now based in southern Wake County, Lara brings a broad perspective to patient care shaped by both international experience and community-focused medicine.
She began her academic journey at Oregon State University before traveling and volunteering internationally. Lara went on to earn her Master of Public Health in International Health from Emory University and spent several years working abroad, primarily in Thailand and Guatemala. Upon returning to North Carolina, she served underserved populations through women’s health initiatives and nonprofit health management.
Midway through her career, Lara returned to Duke University to complete her Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. Since then, she has provided care in both primary care and urgent care settings across rural communities in the Triangle. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and believes strongly in prevention, education, and collaborative care.
Fluent in Spanish, Lara enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a particular interest in women’s health, contraception, and the management of chronic medical conditions.
Outside of work, Lara enjoys spending time with her family and being active outdoors. Together, they love camping, canoeing, skiing, biking, hiking, gardening, and traveling — both across the United States and internationally. Her passion for exploration and community continues to influence her approach to healthcare and life.
