Dr. Ivan Zadounaev is a Family Medicine physician who believes great healthcare starts with a simple philosophy: treat people like people. His approach to primary care focuses on understanding the person behind the symptoms, taking the time to look beyond an immediate concern, and helping patients make informed decisions about their overall health.
Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Zadounaev immigrated to Canada during his teenage years and later became a naturalized Canadian citizen. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine before completing his Family Medicine residency at Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation in Iowa, where he also met his wife.
Following residency, Dr. Zadounaev gained experience in several different areas of medicine. He practiced as a hospitalist in northern New Hampshire before moving to central Illinois, where he worked as an urgent care physician.
His time in urgent care ultimately helped lead him back to primary care. Dr. Zadounaev found himself wanting to do more for his patients than address the immediate illness or injury that brought them through the door. He wanted the opportunity to understand their broader health needs, address underlying concerns, focus on prevention, and build the ongoing relationships that are at the heart of family medicine.
Today, he brings that broad clinical experience to his primary care practice, combining his background in family medicine, hospital care, and urgent care with a straightforward and individualized approach to patient care.
