~McCrimmon Primary Care Plus Patient
T. Payson Thompson, MD is a board-certified family physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, relationship-based primary care for patients of all ages. Originally from High Point, North Carolina, Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where he met his wife and fellow physician, Dr. Jennifer Thompson. They both graduated in 2005 before continuing their medical training together.
Dr. Thompson completed his Family Medicine residency at the Ventura Family Medicine Residency Program in California, a program known for training full-spectrum family physicians. During residency, he gained extensive experience across all areas of family medicine and developed a strong passion for outpatient care and the long-term patient relationships that define primary care.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Thompson has spent more than a decade caring for the diverse communities of Morrisville and West Cary, providing accessible, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Thompson enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, including cycling, running, and swimming. His greatest joy, however, comes from spending time at home with his wife and their three children.
